Terms of Service

Please read these terms and conditions ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the Tanda application (the "Service") operated by Tanda Inc. ("us", "we", or "our").
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.
1. Accounts & Use
When you create an account with us, you must provide information that is accurate and current. Tanda is designed for community financial coordination, particularly within diaspora networks. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.
2. Non-Custodial Service & Financial Risk
Tanda is a non-custodial coordination layer. This means:
- We do not hold, manage, or have access to your group's funds.
- All financial transactions (contributions, payouts, savings) occur directly between members using their own preferred external channels (bank transfers, mobile money, cash).
- Tanda provides the shared digital ledger (a "Circle") to track these activities with transparency.
- Administrators may provide Payment Deep Links or instructions. Tanda does not verify the accuracy of these external links. Users use these links at their own risk.
- Users are responsible for providing an accurate Verification Display Name when logging contributions to help administrators match entries with external receipts.
- Tanda is not responsible for any financial loss, theft, or disputes that may arise between members of a Circle. You use the Service at your own financial risk.
3. Trial Period & Plan Compliance
New accounts are granted an 8-day trial of professional features (Basic features). During this period, you may create multiple Circles and invite up to 50 members.
Automated Pruning: Upon expiration of the trial period, if a paid subscription (Basic or Pro) has not been activated, the account will revert to the Free Tier. To ensure compliance with Free Tier limits:
- Only your first (oldest) Circle will remain active.
- All other Circles and their associated data will be automatically and permanently deleted by the system.
- Member limits will be strictly enforced at 10 members for the remaining Circle.
4. Orphaned Circles
If a Circle has no administrators, members have a 2-day grace period to claim the role. After this period, the Circle and its data are automatically and permanently deleted from our secure database to protect member privacy.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding data provided by users) are and will remain the exclusive property of Tanda Inc.
